We had loads of snow lately and within all the traffic mayhem caused by the weather, Patrick and me paid our last respects to my old Fiat Uno. It’s been a valuable companion during the past few years but several defects and the need for a safer and spacier car (Chiara’s here, you know ^^) finally led to the decision that we’ll have to say good-bye to the brave Italian. *sigh* Well, but at least Chiara was happy to see her aunt and her uncle again π

Flu, grades, cold, back on the track (rails) etc.
Well, well… So much has been going on and I don’t really know where to start. Hmm… Might be because I’ve not been writing so much lately π
First of all, I got my grades. Okay, I was complaining and whyning a lot and to be honest, I was seriously not expecting too much. I don’t know how but I passed all exams and the grades are quite okay, actually! Yaay! π So now, I can fully conentrate on the upcoming last semester with its four exams and, of course, my thesis. Wish me luck with all that!
But just as the last test was done and my stress-level fell I caught a mean flu which took me down for roughly a week already. I’ve still not fully recovered yet but it looks like it’s going to be over in one or two days. This is like so typical by the way: Just when the time’s here for me to relax, enjoy parties with friends, go to the gym on a more regular basis again etc. I get sick! D’oh!
Alright, what’s next? I’ve been using the time I had to stay at home and in bed to increase my Ruby on Rails knowledge. So it might have had a positive side, too. π This is the language / the framework I’ll build my thesis on and I should finally start again to work on that for I’ve not been doing anything there since January…
Oh and my dear sister will be coming home from Barcelona for a couple of days this week! She’ll have her viva voce – wow! Then we’re going to have another Dr. in the family π
Isogashii / Busy
Well, well… It’s been quite a long time since my last entry here. Sorry ’bout that. I’ve just been so freakin’ busy ever since my return from Japan. Final exams for this semester are closing in and I should have been studying instead of going to Tokyo but in my opinion, Tokyo was the way smarter choice π
First of all, I want to present some pictures of my second trip to Japan, however, I did not take so many due to my own stupidity… As you might have read, I’ve lost my small pocket camera, so I packed the bigger one into my luggage. Alright. Got everything with me: the cam, lens protector, SDHC card, battery… d’oh! forgot the battery! So the only option for me to get at least a few pix was to buy a new battery at my favourite electronics store, Yodobashi Camera in Shinjuku…
Tokyo winter 2008/09 |
I was given the chance to enjoy the nice Tokyo winter, the great food and a lot of fun with many friends.Β It was a great week and I want to thank everyone who could find some time to see me! Hope to see you again soon π Oh and Ayumi, he LOVES the shoes π
So what did I do after coming back? Hmm not so many things, actually. Since my final exams for this semester are starting in one week already, I’m basically doing nothing but studying at the moment. Well, at least two pleasant things happened to me: My mom found my beloved Pentax camera and I finally got my new computer *yaaay* but I don’t really have the time to play with my new / old toys at the moment so this will have to wait until February π
Merry Christmas!
γ―γͺγΉγγΉγγγ§γ¨γγγγγΎγοΌ Hope you all can enjoy a happy and peacful time π
MUC – HAM – MUC Grindel season ending session + chill boot camp
Monday morning, err, around noon: I’m riding the hilarious S8 of Munich’s public transportation system. After having spent a great weekend in Hamburg visiting family and friends, partyin’ and chillin’ since Friday, I feel a little tired but also happy big time! π
Now I’m ready 4 X-mas & after that TOKYO!! Wish you all a merry Christmas and especially a great start in 2009 (although I’ll be celebrating a few hours earlier than most of my readers, I assume ^^).
Wendelstein – Bavarian hiking pt. 2
Hey again! Last Saturday, we went hiking again! Okay, Andrea was being laaaazy and used the “I’ve got to look after the baby” excuse but the rest of us did it. The highest mountain in the area, the Wendelstein! Having had perfect weather with a lot of sunshine, it was just beautiful! Less than 140 minutes for almost 1000 meters of height distance is quite okay, too π The view was magnificent and we already found some snow at the peak. But enough talk, here are the pictures!
More “normal life” before university starts again
Weee, I’ve been so lazy lately. Sorry ’bout that! Will be more up-to-date, promised π
So what’s been up these days? Not too much actually. Well, I became even older on the 23rd… To celebrate this, Andrea & Patrick invited me to a very good (but expensive) Japanese restaurant. That was soooo good!
The day after that, I saw Ela & Flo off at the Munich Airport. They returned to Barcelona safely and I still hope that they’re finally able to access the Internet and add content in their blog π
Ah yes! Ayumi-chan has been here in Munich to visit Marcus and (of course) see some nice spots of the city. I met them and had some drinks with them – to prepare for the Oktoberfest-weekend ^^
Oktoberfest… Oh! My! God! They dragged me into the Augustiner tent where we spent almost the whole day (approx 9 hours). But even though I did not drink any alcohol, it was great fun. Many people who’ve been to Japan have been there, too so I was able to share a lot of my “wanna go back!” feeling with them π
And now? Now, university has started again… So in the end, my life finally returns to being really normal. And boring. And without the great food I enjoyed so much in Tokyo. π But Schweinebraten is fine, too! π
Getting used to my “normal” life in Germany again
Well… A lot of stuff is going on lately! As you might have noticed, my niece Chiara has been born and I can just say that she’s a little sunshine π
Anyways – I completely missed to tell that Tanaka Mamiko-san from Siemens visited Marcus and me in Munich and together with her father, we were doing the Tourist-thing: Having dinner in the “HofbrΓ€uhaus”, climbing up the “Alter Peter”, visiting the “Frauenkirche” and many other famous spots and finally ending up in the “Englischer Garten” in the beer garden next to the “Chinesischer Turm”. It was great fun and I have to admit that I’ve never seen so much cultural and touristic stuff of Munich ever in my life – and I’m living in this city for more than five years now… -_-‘
During the last few days, I spent most of the time visiting Andrea and Patrick, the proud parents of Chiara and just hanging around with them. On Friday,my sister Manuela and her boyfriend Florian came to visit from Barcelona. We had a nice and funny weekend – of course including party, a lot of food and drinking π Just by the way: I have to show off what a cool and sporty mom I’ve got! She participated in a half-marathon (about 21 kilometers) without any big preparation or training and ran a GREAT time of 2 hours, 2 minutes and 10 seconds!!!! WOW! Please applaud!
Here are some fresh pictures by the way π
Chiara’s first day
Yay! Tonight at 1:12 am, my niece Chiara Marie was born! There haven’t been any big problems and both girlies are okay. Of course, everybody is a little tired after a nightshift like that but everything seems to be fine. Just came back from a short visit and here are the very first pix:
Well done, Sis π
Becoming uncle
Just to annoy my sister and to prove the timeliness of my blog: Oneesan is on her way to the hospital and – finally – give birth to my niece π
