As some of you might know, I installed the WPTouch plugin to make the site easier to read on mobile phones. While this is awesome enough to praise it, it now has a very cool feature that allows people to send me free live messages to my phone directly from my site π So if you happen to be reading this from a mobile phone, you can click on the “Message” button at the top to get to a form for sending me instant messages:

It’s getting worse…
Ubuntu and the Christmas break
I’ve been working on a system running Ubuntu 9.10 and even though I’m still a Mac fanboy, I have to admit that Ubuntu has grown to be a really fast, stable and fun system! But who cares? Computers suck anyway
Side note: I’ll return to Germany for the holidays, fuel up on relaxation and will be back here in England on January 5th. Merry Christmas to you all and have a great new year 2010!
iPod Touch lottery at allyve.com
Hehe, I just found out about the lottery at allyve.com. They’re going to draw one iPod Touch 3G from all participants right here and I want to win π
If you don’t know what allyve.com is all about, read through the allyve-Tutorial. In my opinion, it’s a very cool idea (damn, to be honest, I was thinking about implementing something like this for a longer period of time but didn’t find the time to do it…).
After jailbreaking
After successfully jailbreaking my phone, I’ve been playing around a lot with Cydia, SBSettings and Winterboard, of course. If you have no idea what the hell I’m talking about here: I tweaked my phone to look nicer π I especially like having 5 rows, 5 columns and 5 dock icons π
I guess I’ll have to style the remaining icons to match the theme… π
Jailbreak
Because my warranty will only last until 11 days from now and because I always wanted to have cheaper SMS with the great biteSMS application (which is up to now only available using Cydia on a jailbroken iPhone), I finally tried to jailbreak my phone… Unfortunately, I already installed the 3.1 OS version because I never cared about jailbreaking etc. which makes things a little complicated.
My first attempt failed and I was afraid I turned my phone into a useless brick at times… But eventually, I managed to revive it and it’s now installing the original un-jailbroken version of the OS. Will keep on tryin’ though π
Update: Jeah, it worked π My iPhone finally displays the amount of characters used by my SMS π
