Getting used to my “normal” life in Germany again

Well… A lot of stuff is going on lately! As you might have noticed, my niece Chiara has been born and I can just say that she’s a little sunshine 😀

Anyways – I completely missed to tell that Tanaka Mamiko-san from Siemens visited Marcus and me in Munich and together with her father, we were doing the Tourist-thing: Having dinner in the “Hofbräuhaus”, climbing up the “Alter Peter”, visiting the “Frauenkirche” and many other famous spots and finally ending up in the “Englischer Garten” in the beer garden next to the “Chinesischer Turm”. It was great fun and I have to admit that I’ve never seen so much cultural and touristic stuff of Munich ever in my life – and I’m living in this city for more than five years now… -_-‘

During the last few days, I spent most of the time visiting Andrea and Patrick, the proud parents of Chiara and just hanging around with them. On Friday,my sister Manuela and her boyfriend Florian came to visit from Barcelona. We had a nice and funny weekend – of course including party, a lot of food and drinking 😉 Just by the way: I have to show off what a cool and sporty mom I’ve got! She participated in a half-marathon (about 21 kilometers) without any big preparation or training and ran a GREAT time of 2 hours, 2 minutes and 10 seconds!!!! WOW! Please applaud!

Here are some fresh pictures by the way 🙂

Pingbacks and other difficulties in my life

Hey hey, here I am again. Uncle Roland 🙂

Unfortunately, my WordPress installation seems to be bugging around a bit. Pingbacks and Trackbacks still don’t work so I’ve been playing around with my permalink structure and stuff like that for a while. It still does not seem to work so I’ve given up now…

But there have been several changes I would like to let my readers to know about: URL of this blog is http://defaude.info without the /blog2 appendix anymore. The old (German) blog can still be found under http://defaude.info/blog but as I mentioned, I will not continue writing in this one. I also changed the permalink structure a little bit so it does only contain the year and the month but not the day anymore. Please update your bookmarks if neccesary. 😉

And also the URL of my RSS feeds has changed! Entries can be found under http://defaude.info/feed and comments have their own RSS feed under http://defaude.info/comments/feed. If you have no idea of what I’m talking about here, feel free to ask me any time 😉

PS: Since the stupid trackback feature also does not seem to work at nordblog.core, I try to kick it right here.

Chiara’s first day

Yay! Tonight at 1:12 am, my niece Chiara Marie was born! There haven’t been any big problems and both girlies are okay. Of course, everybody is a little tired after a nightshift like that but everything seems to be fine. Just came back from a short visit and here are the very first pix:

Well done, Sis 🙂

Becoming uncle

Just to annoy my sister and to prove the timeliness of my blog: Oneesan is on her way to the hospital and – finally – give birth to my niece 🙂

Bavarian hiking

On Saturday morning, we decided to make use of the magnificent weather and went hiking. Well, it was not a big deal, just the Tregleralm, but nevertheless, it was very nice and beautiful. Take a look!

Back in Good ol’ Germany

Well, the title says it all. I’m back. My over six months stay in Japan finally has ended and I’m actually writing this post from my parent’s place. So weird: I woke up in Tokyo, had a nice Starbuck’s breakfast and a nice train ride to the Narita airport and now? Now I’m here already and will sleep in my old kodomobeya tonight…

And here’s to all the people I know in Japan again: THANK YOU SO MUCH! I can’t even say how grateful I am for the past six months. Please don’t forget me for I’ll never forget this wonderful time! Anybody, please keep in touch!

My arrival back in Germany at my parent's place

Wrapping it up

Phew. Finally, the time has come for my very last post from Japanese soil…

To make things more interesting, I changed some small bits. Applied a new theme and removed the weather plugin (my intention was to piss off everyone in Germany with the extremely warm and sunny weather we had here all the time – until I installed this damned plugin). Hope you like the new Theme!

Anyways, because I’m packing my stuff – and this also includes my computer – I want to say THANK YOU to Japan. To the people here for their kindness. Actually, I’m amazed more and more every day that in this true metropolis, which is the most crowded place on our whole planet, still most of the people are friendly, kind, helpful and smiling. And it’s mostly not the kind of fake smile that you can easily get in the USA! I wish I could fit into words how I feel right now but I think that’s impossible. This country, this city, my great roommates, everyone here – I will never forget that and feel extremely grateful for being given the chance to experience all the stuff you could read about in my blog – and all the other stuff I did not dare to post. 🙂

Mina-san, hontouni doumo arigatou gozaimashita.
Ima kaerimasu, dakedo zenzen kaeritakunai.

Tabun mata rainen, ne?

Before saying goodbye…

… I finally managed – after more than six months – to get to Tokyo Tower! Of course I had my camera with me 🙂
